Your hands grazed over the thin fur of your horse's coat, and a smile melted onto your lips. He snorted in response and  munched on some scattered hay on the ground, fresh from this morning. Your body ached when you ran your arm over the length of his back, causing you to wince and topple over. Holding onto your tender stomach, you lightly leaned on the majestic beast, to support yourself instead of falling to the ground.

Your horse shifted slightly, almost as though, he himself was worried. His large blue eyes stared into your own (e/c) ones, staring, searching, for any sign of your well being. You tried to stifle a  giggle in and lightly ruffled his beautiful mane.“You're a cute one.. aren't you.” Your words were nothing but a gentle whisper.

You rubbed your eyes tiredly, and heaved out a sigh when you stood up straight. And soon you proceeded to head into your warm waiting home, once inside you shut the door and stretched. You contemplated on changing into our pyjamas. And obviously you didn't contemplate too long. No longer than five minutes you were dressed in your comfiest pair and sprawled out lazily on the couch.

“Wonder what's on TV...” you muttered, and absentmindedly your fingers flicked the on button. Almost immediately a channel on diet and weight loss pills showed up on the screen. You scowled and shut the TV off, “nothing like damaging someone's self-esteem..” you grumbled and rolled onto your back to stare at the ceiling.

A deep sigh escaped your lips as your eyes travelled to your body, you didn't want to admit it, but those shows really didn't help your self-image. You wanted someone to accept you for who you were, as a person. But occasionally it becomes a challenge when you're constantly surrounded by new advertisements and TV shows associating chubbier people in a negative fashion.

A grin broke out onto your lips and you sat up, “geez, why do I care about what other people think of me anyway..” Your gaze turned to the open window and you hoisted yourself up, deciding to breathe in some fresh oceanic air. After a while of standing by the window you headed into the kitchen for a snack. Upon opening the fridge your eyes widened at what you saw. Nothing. A groan escaped your lips and you trotted to your wallet: that was on your white and grey marbled counter top.

You quickly gathered some of the strewn coins on the counter before slowing your actions. You stared at the coin thoroughly and smiled, remembering how the currency here was so very different than your own. You chuckled when you made your way outside, you also made sure to  pick up your keys and lock your door before leaving to the local market.

The steady pace of your horses trotting echoed in the distance:  he seemed to gallop happily while enjoying the nice breeze. You noticed a group of people in the distance and slowed down your horses pace, he lightly snorted while trying to catch his breath. You patted his thick neck comfortingly and carefully climbed down, you walked him the rest of the distance.

The market was bustling with life, and your horse lightly bobbed his head in nervousness. You soothed him by rubbing his nose and helping him walk along, soon enough you found your destination. A little walk-in convenience store. Okay the store wasn't so convenient considering the prices.. the only thing convenient about them is that they're close to home.

You tied your horses reign to a post and walked inside, a little bell at the top of the door chimed when you strode in as quietly as possible. The shop clerk smiled your way and waved, “What can I do for you, dear?” She asked politely, you acknowledged her politeness with a smile of your own.

“I'm looking for a snack, and maybe some things for dinner.” You didn't seem to have any trouble speaking with her, despite the fact that you felt flustered. As you were introverted it became difficult to socialize sometimes. You kept questing through the store, determined to find something mildly easy to cook up, tonight was going to be one of those lazy nights.

Your eyes found a can of beans and you reached for it, someone's hand touched yours and your face heated up while you mumbled an apology. You stared up at the person and your eyes widened, that unmistakable shade of red, that's right. He was the man you'd seen at the tavern place.

His green eyes stared into your (e/c) ones, you took in his looks, his deep calculating emerald eyes, his two-or-three-day-beard. But his eyes had you lured in and you stared again, “Sorry about that...” Your eyes darted to the floor when you caught yourself staring at his muscular form.

“It's all right lass, dinae be apologizing for such silly things. Say.. where did ye get those blue bruises?” His accent was thick and even thicker with the question he asked you, your eyes darted to the floor. “Just an accident..” You mumbled, his eyes narrowed, suspicious of your response. He knew better than that, no one gets bruises near the eyes from an accident.

Your blush deepened, you thought this man was attractive, but there wasn't any chance he was interested. Was there? 'I just met him, what am I thinking!' you thought to yourself, shaking off the thought. You smiled politely, “see you around..” You trailed off awkwardly, not sure on what to say.

“Aye...” He trailed off, almost like he was thinking about something. When you gathered your things you headed to the cash and payed, you quickly glanced around the store, hoping you would see him. Unfortunately, you did not. Sighing you pushed your hopes down and walked outside and untied your horse from the pole.

“Aye, wait up lass!” The owners voice startled you, and he chuckled in response to your jumping. It was the man from inside the store. “I never got your name...” His eyes scanned your own and he held his hand out. “The name's Allistor Kirkland it's nice to meet you..”

“Nice to meet you too, the name's _____.” You shook his hand and the blush returned, his larger calloused hand seemed to fit perfectly with yours. A grin broke out onto his lips, and it must have been contagious because you found yourself smiling as well.

“Would ye like tae go to the tavern and get a drink with me, _____?”

“Yeah, I'd like that a lot..”

You weren't sure how or why, but you made a friend today. And you were feeling much happier than you have in a very long time.
